My Camera Broke

Not that you always need a picture to accompany a post, but it's kind of fun. Alyssa started school this week... kinda... she went to school Monday for an hour, and then had testing Thursday, which took about 20 mins. But she loves it and I love the routine and seeing her so excited to be there. She is so ready. I truly feel like a real Mom. We've instituted a set homework time, right before quiet time. Peters sleeping schedule is really throwing a cramp in that but we'll figure him out tin the next couple of weeks. He seems ready for only one nap. code for he won't take an afternoon nap. So I'm going to start pushing his morning nap later in effort to have him take one afternoon nap. I'm trying to tell myself that that gives me more freedom to run errands in the morning. But what about days I don't want to go anywhere???? Anyway, It has been nice to get back into a schedule a little and this week will be even more I'm sure with Alyssa going everyday. Next week we start Anna's Joyschool which she can't wait for.

Here's for serious training runs, we got together with our St George running group this weekend for one of our last long runs before the race. Our group consists of Jon, his three brothers; Nick, Andy, Danny, and Ryan and I. Yes, I'm the only girl. The Hansens all slept over at Jon & Janays. We took all the kids over then came home to sleep but returned early the next morning to start our run. Jon had mapped out our course which started at their house and followed the trail at Jensen park then back home to make 16 miles and then a final 4 mile loop to complete our 20 mile goal. Ryan & I are slower then the other boys and it was dark so we lost them early on in the run, but before we knew it we saw themm running bcak toward us. I thought they are going so fast, and of course it made me feel so slow. When we got to the houe it felt like we should be done. But those with their garmins assured us it was mile 16 and so off Ryan & I went to finish up. We acctually took a different ending and only ended up running a little over 2 more miles. It was a good run darn hard but good. I was able to really kick it up at the end which always makes me happy. But we still were feeling disheartened because we couldn't believe it took us so long to run 16 miles and we were so tired at that point. Anyway When we came home to shower Ryan mapped out the course on the computer and we found out that we had run farther on the trail. So their 16 was actually our 19.25. and we ended up running about 22 miles. Anyway. we had a really fun time getting together. it makes me really excited about St. George. Thanks Jon for organizing everything. Extra thanks to Janay, Brittany, and Heidi for watching the the kids. Especially potty training Anna.

Am I writing a book tonight?

I am singing with the General Relief Society Choir this year for General RS Meeting in September. and can I tell you what a wonderful experience it is. For any of you who ever get the opportunity it's amazing. I suppose I'm getting a little taste of what Ryan gets to feel all the time singing with the Tabernacle Choir (maybe better because it's all women). Lucky guy. As I go to the practices I feel a tremendous love for all women and people and a happiness about life, a pure joy. What an inspired program the RS is. I feel so greatful at how comfortable I feel in this environment, not only comfortable but truly happier, energized, it gives me strength. I guess that's the true essense of RS, women working together to accomplish a common goal. Why can't we feel this way all the time.

I love that you typed yourself a little novel. I'm glad that Jon and I made it onto your blog. I should have a whole blog just about you, you're practically a part of the family. Well, actually, you are a part of the family, but you know what i mean. Anyway, loved the sweet info that I already knew, but it's somehow extra fun to read about it.

whoa! long post Becks! So I'm pretty much amazed that you guys all got up and ran a zillion miles on Saturday. It's just crazy. Way to keep up with all the boys!
Also - You'll have to get your camera fixed, because I will want some pictures of your fun camping trip when you get back.

Cute blog Becky! It is so fun to read about all of your adventures. I hope you don't mind but I kind of "nosy'd" over here from Janays blog. I will look for you in the Choir! I am hopefully going to the conference center for the meeting. I think that you are amazing for even tackling another marathon. You are inspiring. It will be way fun to hang out in St. George. Can't wait......NO KIDS HOORAY!
